The Teaching Studio at The Learning Community is a professional development lab for educators who are passionate about teaching and learning.  Our urban public school is open to teachers and administrators who want to see effective teaching strategies at work in real classrooms, share ideas with other committed educators and see measurable gains in student achievement. We do not offer packaged programs.  We listen to the needs of teachers and schools and design services to build their capacity.

Our work is teacher-led, targeted and proven.  Our services include:

Classroom Immersion: immersion observations in one or more classrooms at your grade level and a debrief with a Consulting Teacher

Video Observation & Debrief:  Video-based classroom “observation” that enables teachers to view and discuss instruction with a cohort of colleagues and a Consulting Teacher

Data Systems: Design and implementation of quarterly assessment systems that support instruction and give teachers the ability to quickly use data to drive their teaching

Safety Net Services: Design and implementation of Reading Safety Net systems for students needing extra support reaching national benchmarks

Targeted Grade-Level Workshops: targeted professional development in reading, writing, math and other subject areas

On-Site Coaching: Embedded coaching at your school and in your classrooms

Professional Study Groups: Facilitating Teacher Professional Study Groups at your school

Family Engagement: Strategies and tools for building true partnerships with families
